In the latest update, KeenTools 2024.1 has focused on their flagship add-on for creating photorealistic 3D portraits: FaceBuilder for Blender. They now introduce a new version with a completely revamped user interface along with added functionalities.
As part of the UI optimization, nearly all controls in FaceBuilder for Blender 2024.1 have been grouped and revised to offer the best possible experience to both new and existing users. This not only involves renaming buttons but also reevaluating the entire face-building workflow.
From now on, all mesh alignment controls are consolidated into a single point, enhanced with new head rotation buttons to expedite the process. Face detection and mesh alignment are automatic for the workflow from single image to 3D. Creating a texture from combined views for a 3D head model requires just a click.
As always, FaceBuilder enables users to capture facial identity even from photos with non-neutral facial expressions, utilizing the “Allow facial expression” option.
