Our new short film needs you!

Yes, we are working on a new short film! We are excited to present WIDE ASLEEP, our new cosmic horror project, born from the creative vision of director Seb Pupino and my contribution as a VFX artist, Emanuele Serra.

After the success of our previous short film RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY (RRGA), we are ready to push the boundaries of the horror genre with this new cinematic adventure.

In 2023, we produced RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY, a horror short film successfully funded on Kickstarter. Its world premiere took place at the prestigious FRIGHTFEST 2023 at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, and it was subsequently screened at 12 international festivals, including the Morbido Film Fest, Romford Horror Film Festival, and Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival, earning various recognitions: 2 nominations, 2 awards, and surpassing 60k views on YouTube!

Critics praised RRGA as “an impressive translation of an internal experience which is rarely discussed into a form where more people can connect with it and begin to understand.” (Jennie Kermode, Eye for Film).

We are also excited to have Carolina Lopes join us once again for this new project. She starred in RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY and won the “Best Actress” award at the Giallo Film Festival.

We are raising funds for our new short film, WIDE ASLEEP, a project that will explore the depths of cosmic horror. Our initial goal is to raise £1,500, which will cover the budget for a one-day shoot scheduled for November.

Stretch Goals

We have set several stretch goals that will allow us to further enhance the project:

  • £2,000: Professional audio mixing in a London studio.
  • £2,500: Cinema-quality color grading.
  • £3,000: Film festival submission budget.

Format and Synopsis

WIDE ASLEEP will be shot in 4K digital and will have a duration of approximately 6 minutes. The plot follows a couple who arrive at a B&B at night, only to soon realize they are not alone and reality begins to crumble around them.

With this film, we aim to explore the allure and anxiety of cosmic horror, drawing inspiration from genre legends like H.P. Lovecraft and John Carpenter. WIDE ASLEEP will allow us to ponder profound questions: What lurks in the darkness? What is the thin line that separates sanity from madness? And what happens when that line is crossed?

Accessibility

We are particularly proud of making RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY accessible, subtitling the film in over 20 languages. The same approach will be adopted for WIDE ASLEEP, which will be available with translated subtitles from its release.

The Team

Seb Pupino (IMDB), with over 10 years of experience in filmmaking, will direct and produce the film. Originally from Italy, Seb moved to London to pursue new cinematic projects.
Emanuele Serra, VFX supervisor and digital artist, will be responsible for bringing the eerie atmosphere of the film to life.

Location

The filming of WIDE ASLEEP will take place entirely at a London location. The film will be edited and released on our YouTube channel in early 2025.

Budget

The entire budget will be used for the production and shooting of the short film:

  • Actors’ fees: 30%
  • Crew fees: 30%
  • Location rental: 10%
  • Equipment rental: 10%
  • General expenses (food, transport, etc.): 10%
  • Contingency: 10%
