“ROSA” is a sci-fi short film set in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. In this scenario of destruction, Rosa, a cyborg created for the Kernel project—the last attempt of humanity to restore the Earth’s ecosystem—awakens. Rosa will soon discover that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.
The short film was entirely created by the young comic book artist Jesús Orellana, who spent two years completing it. Since its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, “ROSA” has been selected for numerous film festivals worldwide, including Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi, and the Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October, “ROSA” was screened during the opening night of the Screamfest International Film Festival, considered one of the best festivals specializing in genre films.
The festival circuit has attracted the attention of leading talent agencies and producers in Hollywood. Currently, “ROSA” is in development to become a live-action film.
